Inflation is Rising Day by Day

Inflation in the country has risen to 20.04 per cent this week from 2 per cent and prices of 28 commodities including ghee, eggs, potatoes, bread, mustard oil, cooking oil, pulses, sugar, petrol and diesel, poultry, garlic. Prices of LPG, tomato and wheat flour declined while prices of 18 items remained stable. According to the Sensitive Index of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, inflation rose by 2% over the previous week, with prices of 51 essential commodities reviewed. The prices of potatoes were 9.08 per cent, eggs 6.38 per cent, ghee 4.59 per cent, bread 2.72 per cent, mustard oil 2.65 per cent, lentils 2.33 per cent, edible oil 2.18 per cent, lentils 1.99 per cent, sugar 1.93 per cent and lentils 1.69 per cent. Bananas rose by 1.35 per cent, diesel by 20.69 per cent, petrol by 19.91 per cent and soap by 1.40 per cent, poultry by 4.68 per cent, garlic by 2.75 per cent, flour by 1.91 per cent, tomatoes by 1.26 per cent and LPG by 1.26 per cent. The price decreased by 0.74%. Prices of onions, tomatoes, mustard oil, ghee, garlic, cooking oil, petrol, diesel, LPG and soap increased during the week under review. ۔
