England vs South Africa 2nd Test Day 2 Highlights

England scored 111 at the lost of 3 wickets at the end of day 1. The South African team was bowled out for 151 runs in the first innings. England needed 40 runs to take the lead on the second day. England’s captain Ben Stokes had a very good batting performance on the second day and scored a brilliant century. Along with captain Ben Stokes, wicket-keeper batsman Fooks also scored a brilliant century.


Due to the excellent batting of both the batsmen, England declared their 1st innings by scoring 415 runs on the second day. From England, Ben Stokes scored 103, Flakes scored unbeaten 115, Baitstow scored 49, Crawley scored 38, Pope scored 23 and Joe Root scored 9 runs. From South Africa bowling line up, Nortje took 3, Rabada took 2, Maharaj took 2, Harmer took 1 and Nagidi took 1 wicket. 

In 2nd inning South Africa opener batted very well. In second inning South Africa scored 23 without losing any wicket. In 2nd inning South Africa captain Dean Elgar scored unbeaten 12* and Erwee scored 11*  runs.

At the end of the second day, England’s grip on this match is high and most of the chances are that England will win this match by an innings. After losing the first test match, England has made a great comeback in the second test match and now this team is in a position to win the match. If South Africa bats for two days then in that case they can save this test match otherwise South Africa team will lose this test match.
