England vs Australia, 3rd Test, Day 1 Highlights
The Ashes 2021/22 is in full swing as England is the touring party this time. Australia won the first 2 games of the Ashes convincingly, as the English team looks a bit unprepared for a bigger challenge, and they were outplayed by Australia in all departments of the game. Leading into the test match England is under tremendous pressure.

England’s Innings; As the rain-delayed the start a bit, the Australian captain was not laggy as he struck in his first over removing Hameed on a 10 ball duck as Carey took a nice catch. Zack Crawley was trying to settle in but Cummins has other plans as he removed him with the help of Chris Green who took a nice catch. Zack Crawley scored 12 runs. David Malan and Joe Root tried to support the team and formed a good partnership, As both of them were looking set, captain Cummins struck again removing Malan on 14 leaving England on 61/3. But joe root was playing very well from the other end as he brought up his half-century continuing his amazing run this year in test matches. After scoring a fifty, he was soon removed by Starc as England was under trouble once again. Ben Stokes and Johnny Bairstow tried to build up a partnership but stokes was removed by Lyon on 25. Lyon struck again removing Jos Buttler on 3. Debutant Scott Boland picked up his first wicket in Test matches removing Mark Wood on 6 leaving England on 141/7. Starc removed Bairstow who scored good 35 runs. Ollie Robinson and Jake Leach scored a 17 run partnership. But Lyon struck again as he dismissed Leach on 13 leaving England on 176/9. Ollie Robinson tried to hit a few but he was ultimately dismissed by Lyon. Ollie scored 22 as England was all out on 185. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon picked 3 wickets each.
Australia’s innings; Australian opener David Warner came out all guns blazing and brought up the team’s half-century in just 12 overs, he scored quickfire 38 on 42 balls but was dismissed by Jimmy Anderson in the second last over of the day. Marcus Harris and Nathan Lyon are on the crease at the end of the 1st day’s play. The Summary of the match so far looks like this;
