Good news for heat-stricken Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis suffering from prolonged drought and heat wave have been given good news by the Meteorological Department that a series of heavy rains is going to start in most parts of the country from next week.According to the Meteorological Department,a new meteorological system is entering the country from two days later on Sunday which will result in heavy rains from May 16 to 18.According to the Meteorological.

Department,Islamabad,Upper and Central Punjab,There will be heavy rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.After the rains,these areas will also see a significant drop in temperature.

The department has directed the Disaster Management Authority and other concerned agencies to remain on high alert in view of the danger of flood situation due to heavy rains.In another report, the Meteorological Department said that a severe heatwave will hit Sindh from today which will continue till May 17.Due to this heatwave,daytime temperatures will be above normal in most districts of Sindh.Temperatures range from 46 to 48 degrees Celsius in Upper Sindh, 43 to 45 degrees Celsius in Central Sindh and 38 to 40 degrees Celsius in the districts of Lower Sindh is expected.
